Free SR&ED documentation templates
Good documentation is what makes a claim defensible, and the hardest part is capturing it as the work happens. These templates give you a structure to fill in as you go — and if you use SREDlog, a filled-in template reads straight back in.
SR&ED time log · Excel
Hours per person and task, with a place for the uncertainty each block of work addressed and any linked evidence. The cleanest input for a defensible time picture.
SR&ED project log · Excel
The technical story of each project: the uncertainty you faced, what you tried, and what you learned. It maps to the T661 line 242 / 244 / 246 narrative.
Client import sheet · Excel
For consultants and firms: the core client fields in one sheet, ready to bring a book of clients into SREDlog in one go.
A template is a starting point, not a shortcut
Fill them in while the work is fresh — contemporaneous records are the strongest evidence in a review. They capture structure and reasoning; they aren't text to copy into a claim.
